What’s that song? Trending Music

Nothing like starting a new year with some new music. We’re bringing you some of the latest hits on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook reels starting with our favorite, “Ascend” by Dezko.

What’s great about this song is at about 00:36 when the oscillating synth begins to slow but then develops into more of an emotion rather than merely a song. Ironically, while this song has a more uplifting ambiance to it, the “official visuals” centers on a guy trying to kill himself. If you watch it from the beginning to the very end though, you realize that it’s because he’s seen something so beautiful beyond our worldy life (imagined here as a serene lake side vista) due to a near death experience that he desires nothing more than to return to that place.

Tyla – CHANEL

Starting about 00:49 you will most certainly recognize this song with the viral dances that often include some belly dancing-like movements followed quickly with a booty bump to the left. With the voice and sound of something that could be Rihanna, Tyla sets off this soft beat with a cool vibrant rap that carries through the whole of the song hinging on Chanel.

Kato Feat. Jon – Turn The Lights Off

I mean, who hasn’t seen the John Hamm meme’s? The artist even joined in with his own. The song itself is over five years old and the scene used that features John Hamm is from Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple TV.

Die Antwoord – Pitbull Terrier

Around 3:22 you’ll recognize the song from a trending dance that allows young men to show off their biceps and obliques with a slight sexy flair. The flexing is purely for show and shows off a lot of sinewy manliness. Though the trending version has been slowed down, it still is a nod to older music making a resurgence in trending videos.
